AEW Dark recap (May 4, 2021): Leyla Hirsch picks up signature win Share this story Episode 87 of AEW Dark featured Leyla Hirsch earning a signature win, Dante Martin on a hot streak, and Lance Archer hossing it up with Luther. When the Dark lineup was announced, there was one match in particular that I was looking forward to. That would be Leyla Hirsch versus Diamante. Both have unique styles backed up by fierce intensity. This bout was set up last week during Dark: Elevation when Diamante displayed poor sportsmanship after losing a tag match to Hirsch and Ryo Mizunami. The two competitors tussled on the mat to start. Diamante escaped a rear waist lock with a back elbow and countered into a cazadora stunner. Hirsch rallied with two German suplexes, a running knee, corner smashes, and a side suplex. Diamante still had enough juice to kick out of the cover. Fisticuffs were engaged with both wrestlers swinging wildly. Hirsch used a trip to take down Diamante then transition in

Adam Page vs. Spencer Slade Page feints a springboard entrance. The bell rings, and Page does not waste anytime firing in chops and hiting a fallaway slam. Slade with a flurry of strikes, but Page responds with a big lariat. He fires in another in the corner and goes at him again on each corner before a sliding lariat. Page hits a pop-up powerbomb /stack pin for the win.

AEW Dark Elevation results: Omega, Takeshita & Nakazawa trios match

Hangman Page defeated Spencer Slade (1:21) Slade was born deaf and wears amateur headgear and hearing aids. Page killed him with a fallaway slam and lariats in the corners. A pop-up into a powerbomb and cradle got Page the win. Britt Baker (w/ Rebel) defeated Tesha Price (5:28) This was a bit of a struggle early on as it didn’t seem like they were on the same page. Baker hit a DDT followed by an air raid crash. From there, Baker went right into the Lockjaw for the submission. Jurassic Express defeated Midas Black and Jay Lyon (1:49) This was a comedy squash. Lyon and Black are the team that does the circus lion/liontamer gimmick, so this match with Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus seemed like a natural. Lyon had some kind of steak (allegedly) hanging out of his mouth. Jungle Boy pinned Lyons and Black in a pile after a pair of fireman’s carry slams.
