“Celebrity” waiters and waitresses served food to Spencer Community Theatre patrons Saturday night as part of a fundraiser for Spencer Main Street’s Micro Grant program. The Spencer Community Theatre is steadily climbing out of the financial hole created by the COVID-19 pandemic, theater leaders say.
After a brief hiatus over the last few months, the theater’s next production, “The Music Man,” has been cast, and rehearsals are in progress, Connie Goeken, a member of the theater’s board of directors, told the Spencer City Council on Jan. 16. Theater rentals for events are starting to rebound too, she said.
