Knight appeared intoxicated and told officers he had drunk three beers before driving. After a breath test, Knight elected to provide a blood sample. This showed a level of 175 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, the court heard. Knight was unco-operative throughout the procedure, the summary said. Knight’s licence was suspended. However, the following day his vehicle was impounded after he was seen driving. “In explanation, he stated he thought he would be fine and that he was not thinking,” the summary said. Judge Richard Russell said Knight’s conduct was “poor” and being three times over the legal blood-alcohol limit was unacceptable.
