Winnipeg needed to get in on it : Pair of hotels joining in on the sign wars trend

  WINNIPEG A recent internet trend has made its way to Winnipeg thanks to a pair of hotels. Sign wars are a friendly battle between businesses of putting up witty comebacks towards each other and now that has started in Winnipeg thanks to Motel 6 Headingley and Super 8 in Winnipeg West. Karina Bueckert, the director of business development for Motel 6 and Super 8, said she felt like it was time that Winnipeg got in on the sign fun. We decided that Winnipeg needed to get in on it as well. So we were happy to get it started and we are very excited to see who is going to come on board, said Bueckert.

Sign war: Inn of Waterloo joins the friendly battle

KITCHENER The Inn of Waterloo has waded into a sign war waging across southern Ontario. The inn shared a photo of their sign on Instagram on Monday morning, joining dozens of businesses in Listowel and Sarnia taking part in a friendly war of words.

  KITCHENER Waterloo regional police are hoping to score some doughnuts as they wade into the sign war waging across southern Ontario. In April, the Speedy Glass in Listowel challenged the Dairy Queen down the street. More and more businesses and community groups have joined in on the fun, including the Inn of Waterloo and now the Waterloo Regional Police Service. “Hey @DairyQueen, forget the ice cream Got any donuts?” We just had to do our part to bring a smile to @RegionWaterloo during the #Signwar. WRPS tweeted their sign on Tuesday morning, asking Dairy Queen if they had any doughnuts available. In the tweet, they challenged the fire departments in Waterloo, Kitchener and Cambridge, along with Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services.
