Yamuna Expressway has recorded a rise in speeding violations in 2023 compared to the past three years. The transport department issued 2,427 challans for speeding violations in 2023 compared to 2,243 in 2022, 1,689 in 2021 and 2,170 in 2020. In 2022, 262 accidents on Yamuna Expressway left 91 dead and 559 injured. In 2023, 341 accidents left 80 dead and 596 injured in 341 accidents from January to October. Traffic officials said Noida, in total, logged 1,176 accidents in 2023, with 470 people dead and 858 injured. In 2022, the city witnessed 1,122 accidents, which left 437 dead and 856 injured.
