L&T to supply 28 steel bridges for bullet train project ANI | Updated: Jan 29, 2021 11:58 IST Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Jan 29 (ANI): The heavy civil infrastructure business of L&T Construction has secured a contract to supply 28 bridges for Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. The project involves two packages to procure, fabricate, assemble, paint and transport 28 steel truss superstructures with bearings to various sites that will cross over roads, rivers, railway lines and other structures. The project was secured through a consortium of L&T and IHI Infrastructure Systems of Japan, L&T said in a statement on Friday. The value of the contract is between Rs 1,000 crore to 2,500 crore. When completed, it will be India s first bullet train project.

Updated Dec 27, 2020 | 08:30 IST Maharashtra government assured the Centre that 80% of land acquisition work will be completed in the next four months itself.        Indian Railways ready for phase-wise launch of Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project (File photo)  |  Photo Credit: Twitter Ahmedabad: The Indian Railways will begin operations in a phased manner on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor owing to delayed land acquisition in Maharashtra, said Railway Board Chairman YK Yadav.  The work on the corridor ran into hurdles in Maharashtra owing to protests from farmer groups and the state government. However, no such delays were reported from neighbouring Gujarat. Yadav on Saturday said the Ministry of Railways is prepared to operationalise the corridor till Vapi in Gujarat if there is further delay.
