LiveMore Capital enters new partnership with Specialist Mortgage Group

LiveMore Capital has partnered with brokerage Specialist Mortgage Group (SMG) as part of the company’s plans to broaden its market reach to borrowers aged 50 and over.  The new partnership will allow SMG’s brokers to recommend mortgage products that are specifically designed for borrowers aged 50 to 90 and over.

Second-charge optimism is shining through | Mortgage Introducer

The latest figures for the second-charge market, from the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), make for positive reading. It found that the value of new business for March came to £88m, the most positive month for new lending in a year, while the number of new loan agreements is now unchanged from last March. It is an encouraging demonstration of how the market has picked up from the difficulties posed by the pandemic. Fiona Hoyle, the director of consumer and mortgage finance at the FLA, said that members of the trade body were “increasingly optimistic” about the outlook for the market, and in my view that optimism is shining through in the way that lenders have behaved over the last couple of months.

Specialist Mortgage Group appoints Hughes as bridging & commercial head

7 th May 2021 11:46 am The Specialist Mortgage Group has appointed Liam Hughes as the new head of its Y3S Bridging & Commercial business. Cardiff-based SMG says Hughes was promoted to the role after working at the group of packaging firms for over seven years. It adds, Hughes has “vast experience in the bridging and commercial sectors”, and will be “tasked with driving significant growth” at the business. The unit has been brought together with YSS Loans at its Cardiff headquarters. Hughes takes over the roles of Raffour and Gage, who have left the business. Specialist Mortgage Group chief executive Barney Drake says: “As a professional with many years experience in the field and with such a high level of respect from his peers, Liam’s promotion to head the team was an easy decision to make.”
