Trump gives Durham authority to use classified information indefinitely
The Trump administration revealed in a memo on Tuesday that last week, they gave John Durham the authority to use classified information indefinitely. He can present it to the grand jury if appropriate. He is the investigator appointed by Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate Crossfire Hurricane.
This begs the question, why didn’t Attorney General Bill Barr do this? Will anything happen? It’s amazing how something described by the outgoing AG as an effort to “topple the administration” never goes anywhere.
The memo was addressed to the Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of Defense, Attorney General, Secretary of Energy, Secretary of Homeland Security, Director of National Intelligence, and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

President Donald Trump recently authorized Special Counsel John Durham to use a plethora of classified information as he continues his criminal investigation into the origins of the FBI s Russia probe. The Attorney General is currently conducting a review of intelligence activities relating to the campaigns in the 2016 Presidential election and certain related matters. On May 13, 2019, the Attorney General directed John Durham to conduct that review, which subsequently developed into a criminal investigation. On October 19, 2020, the Attorney General appointed Mr. Durham to conduct that investigation pursuant to the powers and independence afforded by the Special Counsel regulations of the Department of Justice, President Trump wrote in a memo late last week.
