Justice Minister, Cllr. F. Musa Dean
The Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas (ALJA) says it has lost trust and confidence in the ability of Justice Minister Musa Dean to effectively serve as Attorney General of Liberia.
ALJA says Minister Deanâs recent inconsistent positions taken in the ongoing certification crisis involving Lofa County Senator-elect, Brownie Samukai and the National Elections Commission (NEC), has drawn his credibility and that of the Justice Ministry into question.
In a press release issued on March 16, 2021, ALJA said the Ministerâs inability to take a definitive position in a legal matter that has the propensity of derailing the prevailing peace and stability in Liberia, has made his continued stay at the Justice Ministry irrelevant.

Monrovia – Representative Edwin Melvin Snowe has assured the people of Bomi County that as he enters the Senate, he is going to be an advocate for them. The electorates of Bomi overwhelmingly voted for him.
He didn’t only promise the people of Bomi, Senator-elect Snowe also informed the Elections Commission that he is also going to advocate for it by ensuring that some of the elections laws are reviewed and that the Commission is supported in a timely manner through budgetary allocations.
Supreme Court declares, affirms NEC Board of Commissioners’ in favor of Rep. Snowe
Following intense legal wrangling over allegations of reported fraud and irregularities said to have marred the December 8 Special Senatorial Election in Bomi County, the Supreme Court has declared that there is “No evidence to substantiate the claims.”
Edwin Melvin Snowe, the current Representative of Bomi County District#1, contested in the December 2020 Senatorial election and was earlier declared by the National Elections Commission as the winner over his main rival, J. Alex Tyler, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and former Representative of District #2 in the county. Mr. Tyler, who was accused during the Voter Roll Update of trucking voters from Monrovia to Bomi for registration, did not accept the declaration of Snowe as a winner but took the matter to the Supreme Court.
