Auglaize sheriff: Special needs program begins

Auglaize sheriff: Special needs program begins WAPAKONETA The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office is implementing a new program to increase the communication and interaction with residents with special needs such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, schizophrenia, PTSD, autism, ADHD, developmental disability, Down syndrome, blindness, deafness or other physical or language barriers. The free program open to residents of Auglaize County is called SPOT, for Special Population Operations Team. The initial sign-up step requires residents to contact the sheriff’s office to register a family member. A SPOT coordinator will provide a registration form and questionnaire. Once the information is completed the information will be transferred into the office’s dispatch system, allowing instant access to law enforcement and first responders.
