chance maybe in one region or another? or are you just looking at them individually as pickup opportunities for other reasons? it s all about the numbers. of those 56 republican seats, about 40, 45 of them are very very safe red seats. democrats won t invest there. but there s a sweet spot of eight to ten that are within single digits of performance between democrats and republicans. like a seat in miami or in california 39 in orange county where democrats see those as real opportunity. you single them out of that top ten seats that we could win based off of the numbers. dana: tim, i ll give you a quick last word on that. because republicans, as you said, historically it s difficult. are the republicans in a pretty good position from that perspective? they are certainly raising the money they need. when you look at the special election results at the state level, pennsylvania last week, turnout is through the roof. our base needs to be excited and

officially lost and still officially hanging on. filing a complaint overnight to delay the certification of the special election results in alabama. in a late night filing his campaign quotes three so called election integrity experts who believe voter fraud occurred. the campaign also says he took a polygraph test proofing allegations of sexual misconduct that derailed the campaign are false. you remember he lost to doug jones earlier this month. the alabama secretary of state is scheduled to certify the results today unless the new court filing forces a delay. jones is expected to be seated early next year narrowing the republican s advantage in the senate to just 51-49. president trump touting his legislative record but might be giving himself a bit too much credit. a surprise visit to a west palm beach fire house he claimed he signed the most legislation of any president. that doesn t exactly pass the
community there. and i think some of the things that democrats have been talking about right after the election engaging more white, working-class voters i think that some of the special election results are proving that to be a lie. i think that what we re learning is that if you actually engage black voters and mobilize them to the polls and give them messages that resonate, you can win elections. and i think that democrats are starting to learn that lesson, and hopefully, they ll be successful in 2018. have you gotten a call from 2020 as to the fact that joe biden and either kamala harris or cory booker are running? was that a shake of the head? i always get asked about 2020 and i always say, let s see who rises to the top. right. let s give them a shot. let s give them all an equal shot. i m not hanging my hat on any individual person yet. it s too early. we re worried about 2018. all right, thank you to you both. coming up, everybody, turning pain into a promise. f
