papadopoulos issue that triggered a lot of this, turns out there was a hillary clinton connection there as well. i think a lot of these things adding up is what pushed for the special counsel request. first of all, on capitol hill there is a big bipartisan investigation into trump and russia going on in the senate intelligence committee. there s no reason that it has to be duplicated in other committees. inside the justice department right now we have this respect inspector general report coming up in four to six weeks. it s an internal investigation into the way the fbi and the justice department handled a hillary clinton email affair. there s a lot of questions you can ask about that and people are expecting a pretty interesting report. the point that gowdy is making now, a lot of other republicans too is not on this specific issue, this looking into the fisa warrant and all of that, there are so many people outside the justice department like christopher steele, like sidney blumen

going off course. but what we are seeing is, in fact, this is, indeed, relevant to mueller s investigation, these potential financial crimes so we could be talking about money laundering, for example, and there are also some signals that this is much broader than just cooperation we are hearing about with the irs, mueller and his team have been working with new york attorney general eric schneiderman, as we seen reported in recent weeks reporting by cnn, looking into potential money laundering, including by manafort. also in past weeks, you ve had a key attorney, a very high profile attorney, who was formally working for the department of justice on money laundering issues, joining mueller s team, clearly this is an angle they are dealing with, a key piece of the puzzle they are putting together. will the special counsel request if he hasn t yet access to president trump s tax returns? so, wolf, i think we have to wait and see.
