Speaker of the National Assembly Thandi Modise briefed the rules committee on her decision to review the composition of the Section 194 committee on Tuesday.
This comes after the UDM complained about smaller parties not having a vote.
National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise has amended the composition of the Section 194 committee that will deal with the impeachment of Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
All parties will now be allowed a vote in the committee.
On 16 March, the National Assembly voted to impeach Mkhwebane.
The former parliamentary spokesperson confirmed on Friday that she is still a party member, saying it may have all been an honest misunderstanding on the party’s part.

The ATM approached the Supreme Court of Appeal in its bid to have a secret vote in a motion of no confidence in President Cyril Ramaphosa.
They argue Speaker of the National Assembly Thandi Modise made a material error of law in her decision to have the vote by open ballot.
Modise said the particular error in law the ATM refers to is immaterial and described their application as vexatious .

Some opposition parties in Parliament have criticised the testimonies made by both National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise and President Cyril Ramaphosa at the State Capture Commission. Modise and Ramaphosa both acknowledged Parliament’s oversight role did not do much to prevent state capture and corruption.
The opposition benches are blaming the majority party in the national legislature for protecting the executive to be held accountable.
The oversight role of Parliament to scrutinise the work of the executive was in the spotlight during Modise’s appearance last week and President Cyril Ramaphosa’s appearance this week.
