Nyamira County assembly is staring at another row after Governor Amos Nyaribo resubmitted the name of James Gesami for approval as his deputy.
The assembly rejected Gesami in January with 21 voting against the nomination and only 15 supporting. And as the Assembly resumes sittings on June 6, it is not clear whether the MCAs will approve this time.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party had on April 12written to Nyaribo to nominate lawyer Charles Rigoro as his deputy in what was termed as an understanding between the party and the governor.

Nyamira County Assembly was yesterday turned into a boxing ring when ward representatives exchanged blows after failing to agree on the House business.
Shouts and whistle sounds rent the air as chaos unfolded on the floor of the assembly.
The Members of County Assembly (MCAs) had differed on the order of business to be debated, with some feeling that there was no transparency on certain issues.
Bomwagamo Ward Rep Charles Barongo protested that the day’s Order Paper was not circulated in time, yet it contained contentious issues which had caused divisions among them last week.

Nyamira County Assembly leadership has denied a fallout among members after the name of a nominee to the House was omitted in a report.
Yesterday, Speaker Moffat Teya came out to deny any rifts in the Assembly, but failed to explain why Clive Ongwora s name was left out to the Department of Environment, Water, and Natural Resources.
Ongwora s name was expunged from the report that was tabled before the House a week ago. Four other names that were in the report were approved by the Assembly and later appointed to Governor Amos Nyaribo’s Cabinet.
