Updated: 4:34 PM EDT May 25, 2021 An Upstate school bus caught fire Tuesday afternoon with students on the bus, according to a school district official.Spartanburg police dispatchers said the call came in just after 3:35 p.m. about a school bus on fire on Thurgood Marshall Road.Spartanburg District 3 Rep. Aly Myles said three students were on the Thomasbuilt bus when one of the district s drivers noticed smoke coming from the engine.The driver pulled over and everyone was able to get off the bus without injury, Myles said.Several minutes after everyone was off the bus, the engine caught fire, according to Myles. She said the students were moved to a different bus and continued on the route.
