CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Downtown Cape Girardeau will be busy this weekend, especially on Saturday, April 29.
“We will literally have thousands of people downtown,” said Liz Haynes, executive director of Old Town Cape.
She said with thousands of people in the downtown, finding parking will be a challenge.
“There is plenty of parking available, but you may have to look for it,” she said. “You may have to do a little walking.”

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Cape Riverfront Market kicks off the season on Saturday, May 1.
It will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., rain or shine, on Spanish Street. You can click here for more information.

Old Town Cape and the Historic Preservation Commission will be providing demos celebrating Historic Preservation Market.
The Hutson’s parking lot will be closed for the Muddy River Marathon, and there will be construction on Spanish Street as part of the Spanish Street Improvement Project, so organizers reminded visitors there are two parking lots available on Broadway north of Main Street.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Spanish Street Improvement Project is on track and the intersection of Independence and Spanish Streets is expected to reopen the last week of April.

As of Wednesday, April 21, Anna Kangas with Cape Girardeau’s Development Services, said once the intersection is finished, they’ll move on to the west side of Spanish Street.
