The school held its seventh annual Bring A Tin Day in support of the charity on Friday and headmistress Michele Anderson said: This year the school community came together and donated a staggering 1,857 items of food, ranging from basic essentials to Christmas treats.

A teenager has made sure that disadvantaged children will not miss out this Christmas after raising money to buy more than 40 presents.
Spalding Academy pupil Jake Winklett (15) was inspired to help KidsOut after hearing the groupâs work with children and families who are escaping domestic violence from his mum Julie.
Jake then used his birthday money to buy presents along with receiving support from friends along with his mumâs work colleagues at B&M Bargains, which had been approached to help.

Spalding Academy staff and students raise cash for children s charity

Staff and students at Spalding Academy supported Save The Childrenâs âChristmas Jumper Dayâ campaign.
Staff wore Christmas jumpers and students donned festive tights or socks.
An impressive £346 has been raised for the charity, with still more time to donate.
