On Tuesday, a police release said the JP granted the 52-year-old man $350,000 bail, and the matter was adjourned to May 24. The JP also transferred the case to the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court. Mano lives at Chin Chin Road. Four victims reported to police that between August 2019 and October 2020, they paid Mano varying sums of money as downpayments towards the purchase of five vehicles. The release said the accused allegedly failed to deliver the vehicles as promised. The would-be buyers tried to get refunds, but their efforts were futile.

Cunupia businessman charged with fraud granted $350,000 bail

Cunupia businessman Adesh Mano was granted $350,000 bail when he appeared before a Justice of the Peace on March 12th charged with four counts of fraudulent conversion. He was charged with fraudulent conversion of sums totalling $308,000, when he appeared before JP Ali on March 12th. He was granted bail and the matter adjourned to May 24th 2021 and transferred to the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court. According to police reports, four victims reported to police that during the period August 2019 and October 2020, they paid the accused varying sums, representing down payments towards the purchase of five vehicles. The accused reportedly failed to deliver the vehicles as promised and efforts by the victims to obtain a refund of the monies proved futile. Investigations, supervised by Snr. Supt. Arlet Groome, were launched into the matter and the accused subsequently surrendered to the police on Thursday 11th March, 2021.
