Robert E. Malesardi of Palm Beach, who opened and owned what is today the Four Seasons Resort and Spa Palm Beach, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at his waterfront home in Oxford, Maryland. He was 96.
Mr. Malesardi was born Oct. 5, 1924, in the Bronx, N.Y., to Harold and Natalie Hoer Malesardi, and he grew up in Tenafly, N.J.
He entered Bucknell University at age 16, where he was a commerce and finance major, a member of Sigma Chi, the wrestling team, and the Navy V-12 program. At age 20, he was the youngest commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy.
