A consultant's report to close behavioral service gaps in North Dakota recommends that rural hospitals be able to assess, stabilize and transfer unstable psychiatric patients. But hospital representatives say they face significant challenges.
"Quitting Time" is a statewide, week-long, awareness campaign aimed at assisting tobacco users in kicking the habit and guiding them through the process.
"Even if you think they might look like they’re 25 or 20, you still should card them up to age 40," said Karen Goyne of the Southwestern District Health Unit in Dickinson.
Following a detailed presentation by the Southwest Homeless Coalition, the City of Dickinson approved $25,000 in funding to launch a pilot project aimed at supporting a homeless shelter with the purpose of helping better serve southwest North Dakota's itinerant population.
