Construction on the $15 million projects is expected to begin this year and be completed in 2022. Enrollment will begin this year. The facilities will provide advanced training for high-demand manufacturing jobs. The Electric Vehicle-Energy Storage Manufacturing Training Academy will be located at Heartland Community College in Normal and the Advanced Manufacturing Center will be built at Southwest Illinois College in Belleville. “As the electric vehicle industry and other advanced manufacturing roles see increasing demand in Illinois, we are preparing to seize those jobs, with investments made across our communities and to maintain our state as a top destination for companies to grow and invest,” said Sylvia Garcia, acting director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and
