Topsham butcher shop, a family business for 92 years, to close
While the retail side of L&P Bisson and Sons is closing due to a lack of workers and health issues in the family, other facets of the business will continue.

After 92 years, an iconic family-run butcher shop in Topsham will be closing its retail store this August.
The third-generation owners of L&P Bisson and Sons, a dairy and meat market on Meadow Road in Topsham, recently announced plans to close the retail store their grandfather started, citing health issues and lack of employees because of the pandemic.

As we alluded to last week, August is vacation month for many business leaders, teachers and area employees. Though our seasonal businesses may not have a moment to spare, many other businesses do make sure their employees take some time off in August. With school coming back in-person for many families this fall, this August will likely be busier than ever as family’s have one last hurrah.
