The start of the 2023 postseason for the No. 1 seeded Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs soccer team once again began with a dominant win on Wednesday night, defeating visiting No. 16 seeded Chesapeake, 11-0 in one half of soccer at LCHS.
After battling back for a very competitive first set against the No. 12 seeded Paint Valley Lady Bearcats in the 2023 Division IV sectional semifinals, the No. 5 seeded Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost the match in three straight sets, seeing their season come to a close at home on Monday night.
There is a battle for first place in Highland County for the top spot in the standings of the girls soccer Southern Hills Athletic Conference, and Monday night it was Lynchburg-Clay doing what was needed to be done to defeat the North Adams Lady Green Devils.
Not getting underway until after 7:30 p.m., the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs played under the lights and some rain in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference game with the North Adams Green Devils Monday night.
For the fifth time in seven games this season, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys soccer team was on the road, and on Wednesday evening they earned a victory in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play.
