Finesse Fishing Online Class
Southern Fishing News is now offering a free online class in finesse fishing for bass, designed primarily for high-school bass clubs but very helpful to anyone who wants to learn this effective tactic.
The finesse tactic keys on much smaller lures than bass anglers are accustomed to using, sometimes employing jig heads weighing only 1/8 ounce and tiny plastic tails just 3 inches long to fool heavily pressured bass that are difficult to catch on larger lures.
The tactic works particularly well in clear water lakes like Lewis Smith and Martin, where anglers fish the little lures on nearly invisible mono testing as little as 6 pound test to catch cagey spotted bass. Light spinning gear is the usual tackle.
