Lakewood Ranch’s Katie McCoy can barely remember a time before she had Bristol, a Labrador retriever, by her side.
McCoy was matched with Bristol through Southeastern Guide Dogs, a Palmetto-based nonprofit, six years ago after she had done research to find a guide dog to help her.
About Southeastern Guide Dogs
Southeastern Guide Dogs is a Palmetto-based nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives by creating partnerships between people and dogs.
The nonprofit will breed, raise and train dogs to become guide dogs and then match the dogs to people who are visually impaired, veterans and children with significant challenges. Dogs from Southeastern Guide Dogs will find homes and help people all across the country.
