The lengthy meeting consisted of presentations by the developer and byLinda Kay Richards, who gave a formal presentation in opposition, in addition to multiple questions by commissioners and more than 30 people speaking during public comment.
Most who spoke in favor of Costco Wholesale Corp. but against the proposed location, citing negative impacts on surrounding residential communities and an increase in traffic.
“I love Costco. I have a card; I’ve been going there since 2007,” Martin County resident Amy Pritchett said. “I just don’t like the location. . Put it in a place where there isn’t as much going on.”
