Northern Manitoba continues to be the biggest driver of new COVID cases in the province as health orders in the south are set to loosen on Saturday morning.
For Dr. Jazz Atwal, acting deputy chief provincial public health officer, it is a stern reminder to not abuse the situation and act within the spirit of the order.

“It’s going to be up to every single Manitoban to do those correct things,” he said. “This isn’t going to be about trying to skirt an order, to try to find a loophole in something. I think everyone understands what they need to do.”

With daily case counts and test positivity rates moving in the right direction, the province is in a position to consider loosening current restrictions, Chief Provincial Public Health Officer Brent Roussin says.
