BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY Suspicious white powder in an envelope opened by a Bridgehampton man Tuesday was determined to be non-hazardous material after it was tested, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, at 12:25 p.m., a 44-year-old man in Bridgehampton called to report that he d opened the envelope.
Multiple units including Southampton Town police and detectives, fire marshals, the Suffolk County Police Department s arson squad and emergency services unit, the Southampton Fire Department and Southampton Ambulance, and the Bridgehampton Fire Department and Bridgehampton Volunteer Ambulance were at the scene investigating, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY The body of a man who had been missing since January was found last week in Southampton, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police Lt. Susan Ralph, the body of William Woodworth, 58, of Massapequa and Hampton Bays, was found in Southampton Village last week.
In January, a family member called and said that Woodworth had left his residence and might be driving to his Hampton Bays home, Southampton police said. He might be suicidal, police said.
