FOLLOWING months of closures, diversions and delays, Redbridge Roundabout is now officially open. Representatives from Highways England and Southampton City Council met today to mark the full opening of Redbridge roundabout. The improvements include a dedicated free-flow lane into the city, which will educe congestion for road users, improve safety as well as the appearance of the area for the local community. he £14m scheme introduces several other improvements including new traffic lights on the roundabout, an additional lane allowing drivers to exit Southampton much quicker, a new pedestrian footbridge together with more acoustic fencing and new planting to improve the environmental impact of the roundabout for local residents.
