Shoplifting: Claiming he was on his phone and distracted, a man walked out of a store in the 3800 block of Northlake Boulevard with two gallons of paint for which he did not pay. He said he’d dropped off the paint at the paint counter to have it mixed and, rather than wait, went to other parts of the store to get items he needed. He said he then checked out and remembered the paint when he was finished. He said he then went back inside, got the paint, made a phone call and became so engrossed that he walked out without paying. The paint was worth over $45. The store decided not to prosecute and instead had police issue him a one-year trespass warning.
