Health bosses have already started stripping London s site of its 4,000 beds, ventilators and even signs directing ambulances to wards.  An eye-watering £220million was splashed on seven Nightingales across England amid fears that hospitals would be overwhelmed by Covid patients during the darkest days of the spring. Officials also constructed 19 temporary field hospitals in Wales, while Scotland and Northern Ireland opened one each.
