LAKE District lovers have been handed an opportunity to get their hands on some original sketches by the legendary Alfred Wainwright himself. The sketches include the Lakeland views, for which Wainwright is best known, as well as some Welsh scenes. The drawings will go up for auction through 1818 Auctioneers on the Cumbria/Lancashire broder, and valuer David Brooks estimates drawings of two Welsh churches could make £300–400 apiece. It is thought that two signed ink drawings of Great Carrs and The Duddon could sell for as much as £800 each.
