Peace region SPCA animal numbers up from last year

Both Peace Region SPCA branches have seen an increase in animals in their care so far in 2023.

It took many hours of behaviour modification training in the shelter and foster care for Compass to be ready for adoption. Now that Compass has his forever home, he is settling in very well. He loves to learn how to do all the new things like go for walks and car rides and cuddling on the couch with his dog brother, says the post. The South Peace Branch decided on the name Compass because he “needed a little direction to find his way.” On March 12th, the BC SPCA took in 119 small dogs from a property in Fort Nelson. Officers quickly found themselves in an overwhelming situation since they were only expecting to take in 22 dogs.
