of southeast florida tonight and the southeast overall. it has sent several homes toppling into the atlantic ocean already and threatening buildings in places where sea walls were washed away by hurricane ian just weeks ago. correspondent phil keating is in florida tonight on the beaches there in the atlantic. good evening, phil. good evening, bret. category 1 hurricane nicole howled through florida s atlantic coast line just after midnight causing significant damage like this beach erosion up and down the coast line. it finally made land fall right in between vary row beach and fort pierce. this was the first november hurricane in nearly 40 years. that s how layer it is. anywhere between 3 and 8 inches of rain poured on florida throughout the day. at south patrick shore near cape canaveral at least one wind gust reached 90 miles per hour. the worst damage happened around daytona beach.
