you have rain over west virginia that will slide through your way around noon. st. louis is not included in this forecast for damaging storms today. we could see strong hail or i should say large hail in the dallas/ft. worth area back up through tulsa, maybe even little rock, too. that s the worst of the severe weather today. we re not calling for a tornado outbreak. if there is a tornado, the most likely chance is in oklahoma or arkansas. so your saturday forecast, cloudy, chilly in new england, the southeast looks just fine today but it s from dallas north wards up to arkansas we see this serious storms. on easter sunday unfortunately for kansas city and st. louis, we bring that stormy weather back into your forecast. alex, i was looking at some of the extended stuff. over the next four days area to the south of st. louis are expecting 10 inches of rain. the rivers are at their banks full, and we ll see a major flood through the middle of next week. easter sunday, and it reminds me
welcome back. we want to check in now with chad meyers who has been watching slow-moving storms. where are they going? well, we have lots of things on the board that you don t see on a daily basis. you see that right there? what are you hiding? well, when that pops up, that tells us there are flood warnings around and that is going to be a busy button for the next few days. where are they? well, south of st. louis, and to the east to terre haute. that is hard to see right there, but it is illinois, but i know, when that pops up, something is going on. here is what is going on in the next five days. everywhere that you see purple, and that is st. louis, missouri, and springfield, down to tulsa, and some of the reds into texas with the drought down there, and fires, you are going to see rains here 10 to 12 inches in the entire zone from springfield
eventually this afternoon, memphis, you ll need the umbrella, too. and over the next 48 hours, remember the last couple of rainstorms we had? they were just huge rain events on the east coast. this is not setting up like that. this is about half offensive to an inch. the yellow and orange. is two to three inches. south of st. louis is the only spot we could see significant rain. the forecast for today, the wintry mess in missouri. texas, okay, a little cool in dallas in the low 60s. from new orleans to florida, looking fantastic. spring break season down there. in the mid-atlantic. it is dry today. veronica, i think the best news in the forecast even in new york and new england, as we head towards st. patrick s day, we could see temperatures in the 60s. so, yeah, we ll take a peek at that coming up. i ve got my pom-poms, right here. they better be green. the fallout from japan s earthquake will affect wall street. oil does a u-turn and new leaked documents on bank of america. y
the heat advisory for new york city goes straight through monday. it will be a scorcher this weekend. how s your family in new york? i m sure they are watching cnn in the air conditioning. that s right. staying cool. what we are looking at now is a little bit of stormy weather popping up through the gulf coast. storms to the north and the hot temperatures extend pretty much across the country. even boston climbs to a high of 92. we are tracking some severe weather. it is in minnesota. you will see a tornado watch across much of the state. this includes the city of st. cloud. there was a tornado warning to the south of st. cloud. that expires but the watch goes through 9:00. it does encompass a portion of minneapolis. we are watching the threat for severe weather here as well as in the plains states. lots going on today. tornado watch there. tornado touching down in puerto rico. that s right. we had reports of a tornado touching down in puerto rico. look how stormy it is.
