The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared the Ondo State Governorship Primary Election inconclusive. The polls held in the state on Saturday were said to be inclusive following the late arrival of materials and personnel to 13 wards in Okitipupa council area of the state. The party has therefore rescheduled the election for today (Sunday), April, 21, 2024, according to a statement issued by the Chairman of the Ondo Primary Election Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo.

Supporters of two aspirants of the All Progress Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State on Saturday engaged in violence before the poll began at Ward 1 at Stella Maris College, Okitipupa area of the state. It was gathered that the party members, who had gathered in large numbers to participate in the candidate selection process, fled the scene when violence erupted among the rival factions.
