The Pharr Police Department is investigating an assault case involving a 90-year-old man. Officials said one or possibly two men in their 20 s broke into the man s home on the 200 block of South Magnolia Street, beat him, and made off with valuables.
At 7:00 a.m. on April 1, Isaquiel Benavides said he woke up to a disturbing phone call from his brother, who told him that his father, Roel Benavides, was nowhere to be found.

WIGGINS, Miss. (WLOX) - Part of Highway 49 in Wiggins is closed to traffic after a live power line fell, blocking the highway.
It happened Thursday morning near the intersection of Highway 49 and New Hope Road, just north of Highway 26.
Authorities say Mississippi Department of Transportation were clearing trees on the right-of-way when a tree fell on a power line and knocked it down.
Woman arrested for stabbing incident in Lafayette

A Lafayette woman was arrested on Thursday on a charge of attempted second degree murder.
21-year-old Jerniesha Marnae Harris was arrested following and incident where she allegedly stabbed someone with a knife.
Lafayette Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Wayne Griffin says that at 8:30 am on December 10, police were called to a residence on 1100 block South Magnolia Street in reference to a stabbing.
Upon arrival, Griffin says that police found a man suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital.
Police say Harris, who allegedly made the 911 call, was identified as a suspect and taken in for questioning.
