Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record Two men from Hobbs are facing criminal charges after allegedly stealing a truck Saturday from outside a Roswell residence, hitting a mailbox and then fleeing law enforcement. Kailen Gonsalves-Kamalii (Submitted Photo) Kailen Gonsalves-Kamalii, 23, and Fernado Munoz, 22, were apprehended at separate locations Saturday night after the theft was reported, according to documents filed Monday in Chaves County Magistrate Court. Munoz and Gonsalves-Kamalii were each charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer. Gonsalves-Kamalii is also charged with one count each of criminal damage to property, under $1,000; leaving the scene of an accident, no bodily harm or death; failure to give immediate notice of accidents; and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to vehicles.

Water-main project to require street closures | Roswell Daily Record

Work in area of West Deming and South Lea could also disrupt water service Street closures are planned to begin Monday, Jan. 4 in the area of the intersection of West Deming Street and South Lea Avenue as city crews replace water mains in advance of the upcoming replacement of Lea Street bridge. This initial work on the water mains is expected to possibly last into February, according to a press release issued by the city. Crews will be working each weekday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., but the street closures will be in place at all times throughout the duration of the water-main work.
