South Haven Police are still looking for the suspect of a homicide that took place on Thursday.
It happened in the middle of the day near a busy park.
A neighbor was home a block away and didn t realize what was happening outside.
Police showed up at her door and said security cameras from across the street showed a suspect knocking on her door and then testing the lock.
Police wanted to make sure the suspect had not gotten rid of evidence near her home.

The South Haven Police Department says a dispute led to a man being fatally shot on Thursday. The department was called about shots fired in the area of Elkenburg Park around 12:30 p.m. Officers arrived to find a crashed vehicle and 41-year-old Shondel Solomon Newell of Covert with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police quickly identified two persons of interest and located one of them along with the vehicle of the suspects. They are still looking for the second person of interest, identified as 23-year-old Tiah Deshon Sutton of South Haven. Anyone with information on her location asked to contact the South Haven Police Department.

If you are in need of a COVID-19 test, it’s available for free Thursday afternoon at the South Haven Police and Fire Complex on Blue Star Highway. The city says it’s open to anyone, even those without symptoms, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. No screening and no doctor’s order are needed, but some form of ID is. Anyone with a high-risk job is urged to get tested. It is drive-thru, and you need to stay in your vehicle. Registration is done online here. The testing is available from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
