Renewed controversy and agitation over the recent appointments into the Board and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), by President Bola Tinubu, on which state the chief executive of the Commission should come from, is one too many.
The forum of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) contractors has again raised the alarm and cried out for help over what it called "30 per cent kickbacks" before its members are paid money being owed them by the commission. A group, the South-South Elders Progressive Forum (SSEPF) in Delta State had last week written to President Bola Tinubu over alleged extortion of 30 per cent of contract sums from contractors as kickbacks and an alleged N6 billion bribe paid by some people to retain their positions in the dissolved Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board.
The Niger Delta Development Commission has said it has zero tolerance for corrupt practices and that any member of the public who has any evidence of such against it should reach out to the commission.
