He spoke to leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Daura, Katsina State.
Buhari called for more participation and ownership of the party at grassroots by adopting bottom-up processes of registration and revalidation at ward, local government, state and federal levels, including the FCT.
The President hosted Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, some governors and party members of the APC at his country-home after his registration.
“Our party style and structure should no longer be Abuja downwards, but from the ward level upwards. So that people can defend the party and its policies even at every level.
“The question of putting hands in pocket to get people to participate is no longer there since we don’t have the money to share.’’

A military intelligence source gave details of the operation to PRNigeria on Saturday.
“Alai Bor, a leader of Boko Haram in Buwari village in Bama, was killed while attempting to cross Gwoza-Pulka highway with six others in his entourage.
“The other commander, Maleum Modu and three Boko Haram fighters were also gunned down by the Nigerian troops”, he said.

The South East National Economic Council (NEC) Implementation Committee is impressed with the level of ongoing projects at the Enyimba Automated Shoe Factory, Aba.
The South East National Economic Council (NEC) team Lead, Hon. Mark Okoye, who stated this during a tour at the factory said they came to see the extent production in the factory is going, as well as monitor the execution of the National Economic Council decision in terms of project implementation and ensure that the states are in line with the 71 NEC resolutions.
The delegation was welcomed by the Public Relations Officer of the Enyimba Automated Shoe Factory, Mr. Ikenna Charles George-Esiaba, who took them round the factory to show them the level of work put in place to ensure quality and durable shoes are made. During the tour, they were also shown the various machines in the factory ranging from the Cutting Machines, Sewing Machines, Skiving Machines, Front and Back Labelling Machines,

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has declared three days of national mourning over the death of Mrs. Victoria Asher, Chairman of the union in Benue state.
The NUJ National President, Mr. Chris Isiguzo, declared this in a statement signed by the Assistant National Secretary, Midat Joseph.
Asher died on Saturday morning at the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, from childbirth complications.
Isiguzo expressed sadness over the news of sudden death.
“To this end, we have declared three days national mourning, starting from Monday, Feb. 1 in honour of the deceased.
All State Councils have been advised to suspend all activities within the period in honour of Asher.
President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians of full implementation of the 2021 budget.
The President said that there will be transparency and openness in meeting the targets, while appreciating the National Assembly for the effective and detailed attention before the passage.
Speaking to newsmen in Daura, after the registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress, the President said the budget aptly captured some of the visions of the administration, and all efforts will be poured in to ensure effective implementation.
“We have directed all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies to follow what is in the budget so that we can get the National Assembly to easily support the next budget. We can tell them what we have received, and how it was spent.
