Greenville: Deadly motorcycle crash found 3 days after it happened, troopers say

Updated: 4:08 AM EDT May 27, 2021 A deadly motorcycle crash that happened over the weekend in Greenville County was discovered Wednesday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.The incident first appeared on the Highway Patrol website Wednesday at 1:40 p.m.Trooper Joe Hovis later said the crash happened about 1 p.m. Sunday, May 23, on Garrison Road near Woodville Road.The crash scene was found three days later, but Hovis did not release who found the scene or the circumstances surrounding the discovery.Video from Sky 4 showed the area to be heavily wooded.Hovis said the motorcycle was headed north when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch, ejecting the driver who was not wearing a helmet.The Greenville County Coroner s Office is calling the victim John Doe, as investigators try to identify the man found dead.Senior Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said the man s body was found about 40 feet off the roadway in a field.An autopsy was scheduled for Thurs

Crash on Highway 11 leaves one person dead, 2 injured

Updated: 10:26 AM EDT May 13, 2021 A man was killed and two other people were injured Thursday morning in a crash in Greenville County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.The crash happened at roughly 3:45 a.m. on Highway 11 near Danna View Court. Troopers said the crash involved a Mazda SUV and a Ford. They said the Mazda was traveling north and the Ford was traveling south. According to troopers, the Ford went into the northbound lane and hit the Mazda head-on. The Mazda then hit a guardrail and went down an embankment, troopers said. The driver of the Mazda died at the scene, troopers said. The coroner identified the driver as 58-year-old Dana Todd from Salem. A passenger in the Mazda was injured and taken to the hospital. The driver of the Ford was also taken to the hospital, troopers said.
