A group of Waimate residents and organisations want to investigate the feasibility of a second multi-purpose indoor events and sports facility for the town. Waimate District councillor Colin Pankhurst, Warren White of Waimate Shears and resident Lewis Mclellan, in partnership with the district council, the Southern Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, South Canterbury North Otago show jumping and Waimate Shears are working to get a feasibility study underway for the facility that would be at the town s A&P Showgrounds.
