N.J. cop who accused police chief of fixing tickets was wrongly suspended, lawsuit says Updated 12:30 PM; A police officer in Middlesex County who reported his chief for allegedly dismissing friends’ traffic tickets has filed suit against the town, claiming he was suspended without cause and has been subjected to false disciplinary charges. Officer Ricardo Moreira claims in court papers that South Brunswick Police Chief Ray Hayducka routinely ordered cops under his supervision to “dismiss tickets issued against the chief’s friends and favored individuals.” Moreira, an officer with the department since December 2011, claims Hayducka asked him to dismiss a ticket he wrote someone who illegally parked in a handicapped spot, according to the suit, filed recently in state Superior Court in Middlesex County.
