Robert Larsen was arrested for possession of a destructive device after being stopped in a reportedly stolen vehicle.
Washington County sheriff s deputies arrested a man in Cornelius Tuesday evening, April 27, they say was in possession of an explosive device.
Robert Larsen, 34, was stopped at 6:23 p.m. near the intersection of South Beech Street and 20th Avenue in a known stolen vehicle, a 1999 Acura TL, the Sheriff s Office said Wednesday, April 28.
After stopping the vehicle, deputies detained the four occupants, including Larsen. The Sheriff s Office that that while searching the vehicle, deputies discovered an item in the trunk they suspected was an explosive device. At that point, deputies backed away from the area, blocked off South Beech Street between 20th and 21st avenues, and called the Portland Police Bureau s Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) to assist.

Pasco Burglary Suspect Arrested After Attacking Homeowner

That burglar is currently in the Franklin County Jail charged with Robbery and Assault after he allegedly slashed the resident with a large knife.
According to the Pasco Police Department s Facebook page, the incident happened on Friday, April 2nd.
Pasco Police were called to the 600 block of South Beech Street on a report of an attempted home break-in. Upon arrival, the 56-year old resident flagged Officers down, reporting that he witnessed the suspect trying to break into his home. The man told Police the suspect slashed him with a hunting knife. The man s hands showed injuries consistent with his allegation.
Several Manchester drivers discovered their catalytic converters missing on Sunday morning after retrieving their cars from snow-emergency parking at JFK Coliseum and the West Side Ice Arena, police said.
City police say at least 22 catalytic converters have been stolen from parked vehicles in the city in the past two months.
Catalytic converters, the part of the exhaust system that cleans certain harmful compounds out of a carâs emissions, can be costly to replace â and drivers must have one to get a state inspection sticker.
Al Pike, owner of D&P Undercar in Manchester, said the price of replacing a catalytic converter can range from about $350, to up to $1,500 for trucks with dual exhausts.
