Ben Jauch was named the South Atlantic Conference Astroturf Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week  by the South Atlantic Conference Monday morning. A senior defender, Jauch, was instrumental in securing the Bears huge 27-8 win over Mars Hill this past week. Overall, the Forest, Va., native tallied three ground balls, four caused turnovers, one assist and one point on the night. This is Jauch’s first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

Lenoir-Rhyne Sweeps SAC Men s Track and Field Athletes of the Week Awards

Lenoir-Rhyne’s Marlin Davis was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Jacob Wadsworth was named AstroTurf Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the fifth week of the 2021 outdoor season, the Conference office announced today. Davis, a sophomore sprinter from Indian Land, S.C., finished second in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at the VertKlasse Meet at High Point University. He turned in times of 10.81 seconds and 21.54 seconds, respectively. Wadsworth, a sophomore from Dansville, N.Y., competed at the Spikes Classic last week and finished fifth in the decathlon. During the meet, he set a Lenoir-Rhyne record in the long jump with a leap of 7.35 meters, which is also an NCAA Division II provisional mark.
