The Silver Kickers dance group from Champagnolle Landing performs at Healthworks Fitness Center Thursday morning. The annual Healthworks National Senior Health and Fitness Day Fair featured classes including the Kickers, Water in Motion and Aquacise in the gym pool, chair yoga and other senior-focused activities and tours of the facility. Numerous local businesses and organizations also set up booths at the fair to hand out information. Booths at the event included the El Dorado Fire Department, Champagnolle Landing, First Financial Bank, Kinslow Eye and Laser Center, LifeTouch Hospice, Medical Center of South Arkansas, Oak Ridge Health and Rehab, South Arkansas Home Health, South Point Dermatology, Spa on Main and Turning Point.
United Way of Union County director Alexis Alexander hands out the last of 100 hamburgers served during Thursday s Senior Spring Festival at Champagnolle Landing Senior Wellness Center. The event was organized by Timberlane Health and Rehab, South Arkansas Home Health and Lifetouch Hospice. Staff members from all the organizations joined in to help during the event, and food including grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and cookies were handed out for seniors to enjoy. Timberlane admissions director Lori DeWese, pictured in the background, emphasized thanks to First Financial Bank for providing a grill for the occasion and Oak Ridge Health and Rehab for providing the beans. Aside from the food, the festival also featured activities including a corn hole tournament.
Spring is here, and a group of local, senior-focused organizations are planning to celebrate its arrival on Thursday with a festival outside Champagnolle Landing.
