Gıda ve tarım sektöründe Türkiye’nin ilk döngüsel ekonomi projesi, Diyarbakır Kayapınar Belediyesi tarafından başlatıldı. Proje kapsamında pazar yerlerinde çöpe gidecek olan sebze ve meyveler, tesislerde işlenerek kompost hâline getiriliyor. Bu kompost toprağın verimini artırmak için kullanılıyor. Ayrıca yenebilecek durumda olanlar ise konserve yapılarak ihtiyaç sahiplerine dağıtılıyor.
