authoritarian rule in which the military in camo and their weapons go and grab voting machines. and the last bulwark of democracy was apparently rudy giuliani, of all people? at least in this one tiny incense? the man who is not particularly known for his sound judgment these days. and that thought is i salute the terrifying. i should just tell you in the past hour, the new york times also reported that the committee investigating january six is looking into trump s role into the proposal to seize those machines. we also got an interesting revelation from the washington post today. i think it s also kind of evidence of corrupt intent, a guilty mindset. and it s about a particular habit of donald trump we ve known for years that trump had the practice of hand shredding his documents. in fact, the government had employees on payroll taping trump s documents back together. you see, there is such a thing as the presidents records act. and it requires that all the men must be preserved. and
deep because of the very characteristics that dole personified; honesty, hard work, telling the truth, sound judgment. and i think that dole, in many ways, would have seen himself as being like eisenhower and being a patriot long before he was a republican. and i think that that was a deep part of who he was. he was also very gregarious and in a small town kind of way. doesn t surprise me at all that the he and inouye got along well and he actually influenced inouye to run for office. dole was very smart. he was also unbelievably hard working. i campaigned with him in 1996 when he was running for president. i was amazed. here was a guy who had been so badly injured in world war ii that he couldn t, literally could not put his shirt on by himself. and yet he had disciplined himself, he had risen above his challenges. he could work the rest of us into the ground. [laughter] he loved politics, and he told
down much of the global economy. now there s a worldwide reawakening and it s creating both an incredible opportunity and tough challenges. as economies all across the world come back from this pandemic, america s leading the way. like every country in the world, we have to deal with these issues of rising costs, but we should remember, we have the skill and the tools to get it under control. while other countries are stumbling out of this pandemic, we re racing ahead because so much of the rest of our economy is doing well. because we have created so many new jobs as fast as we have. we re in a position to attack inflation from a position of strength, not weakness. times like these we need steady, tested principle leadership at the fed, people with sound judgment and courage to preserve the independence of the fed and feed people of character and
