LET S keep going is the message for Bridport residents over Christmas - as the community rallies together to spread cheer. Support systems are in place for those who are having to spend the day alone and residents have been working hard to raise some Christmas cheer in the most difficult of years. In a festive message to residents, Mayor of Bridport Ian Bark said local people had been fantastic during an awful year. He said there was light at the end of the tunnel but that people should not drop their guard yet. Christmas will be very different for most of us this year after plans for the big day were thrown into disarray at the eleventh hour by tough new Government restrictions.
TWO Bridport cafés are combining to offer a free Christmas lunch for those spending the day alone. Red Brick Café and Soulshine Café are joining forces to offer anyone not wanting to be alone on Christmas Day a free meal. The meal will take place at Soulshine Café, with 30 spots available for a socially distanced dining experience. The meal will be served at 3pm on Christmas Day - it will be a turkey dinner with all the trimmings for meat eaters and a nut rissole for vegetarians. A spokesman for Soulshine Café said: Don’t be on your own for Christmas. If times are a little tight or you would just like some company, good vibes, and a warm friendly atmosphere come to Soulshine and have dinner with us.
